My artistic journey
My journey as an artist began with a simple fascination — the way light moves across water, how clouds shift and dissolve, and how a landscape can completely change in a matter of minutes. I’ve always felt drawn to capture those fleeting moments — not just their appearance, but their feeling.
Working with oil on canvas allows me to express that connection in the most natural way. I paint using the wet-on-wet technique, made famous by Bill Alexander and Bob Ross — a style that encourages freedom, spontaneity, and emotional expression. The immediacy of the process suits the energy of my subjects perfectly. Each brushstroke feels alive, blending colour and texture right on the canvas to create depth, softness, and movement.

The wet-on-wet technique
Over time, my focus has evolved toward landscapes and seascapes — scenes that invite peace, reflection, and awe. I find endless inspiration in the sky, the sea, and the light between them. Every painting is a journey into that space between realism and imagination, where nature’s power meets human emotion. It’s not just that I paint landscapes and seascapes — it’s that I bring them to life. My wet-on-wet technique infuses every piece with immediacy and movement.

What to expect from my art
My art celebrates the beauty and emotion of the natural world. Working in oils with the wet-on-wet technique, I paint landscapes and seascapes that capture both movement and stillness — moments of light, texture, and reflection that invite the viewer to pause and feel connected to nature’s quiet power. And emotionally, my art leaves people feeling calm, inspired, and reconnected to something timeless and natural.
My goal is simple: to create art that brings people closer to the beauty and stillness of the natural world. I hope that when someone looks at my work, they feel a moment of calm — as if they’ve stepped into the scene and taken a deep, peaceful breath.
"Anthony's art truly captures the serene beauty of the Irish landscape. His paintings evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature."
